Economic Development Authority Vacancies: Open Until Filled

The Town of Dayton is accepting letters of interest accompanied by a resume for two (2) vacancies on the Dayton Economic Development Authority with a term expiring July 10, 2027. People who live near or within the Town of Dayton and have an interest in business development within the Dayton Community are encouraged to apply. We are looking for diverse candidates that can offer expertise from their “day jobs.” Those with backgrounds in business development, finance, construction, engineering, and related fields are especially encouraged to apply. EDA members are not required to be residents of Dayton; however, if they are not, they must be a resident in an adjacent locality (Rockingham County). The Board is made up of seven members, each serving four-year terms.  They typically meet quarterly.

PURPOSE:  The primary purpose of the Dayton Economic Development Authority (EDA) is to administer the Town’s Façade Enhancement Grant. The EDA meets quarterly to review and act on these applications unless there are no applications that quarter. Members of the EDA are appointed by the Town Council.

REQUIREMENTS: EDA members are required to submit a Statement of Economic Interest to the Town of Dayton annually. EDA members must also complete Conflict of Interest training each year, which can be done online.
